The Bangladesh Premier League has always been a golden opportunity for Bangladesh to unearth cricket talent. However, experienced Bangladeshi spinner Nasum Ahmed has etched his name in the BPL history books with a spectacular performance in the ongoing BPL 2025-26 tournament, securing a place among the best bowling figures in BPL history. While Nasum Ahmed's best T20 performance to date is 4/10, his recent exceptional spell rivals the performances of players like Taskin Ahmed and Fahim Ashraf.
1. Taskin Ahmed - 7/19 against Dhaka Capitals
Bangladesh's star fast bowler Taskin Ahmed registered the best bowling figures in BPL history with a sensational 7/19 against Dhaka Capitals. Playing in Mirpur, Taskin delivered his career-best bowling performance for his franchise. His crucial wickets included those of Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan, and Shahadat Hossain, and while Taskin was the lone warrior in the bowling attack, Mohor Sheikh and Hasan Murad contributed with one wicket each.
Despite Taskin Ahmed's exceptional performance, Dhaka Capitals managed to score 174 runs in their 20 overs. Durbar Rajshahi then chased down the target in 18.1 overs, winning the match by seven wickets
2. Mohammad Amir - 6/17 against Rajshahi Royals
In the BPL, he took six wickets for 17 runs. In a match for the Chattogram Challengers in 2020, Amir single-handedly dismantled the Rajshahi Royals' batting lineup. Mohammad Amir dismissed key batsmen at the top and in the middle order, ensuring there would be no significant challenge. His notable victims included Liton Das, Afif Hossain, and Andre Russell. Amir's four-over spell included no wide balls and he conceded only three boundaries, resulting in an economy rate of 4.25.
3. Mohammad Sami - 5/6 against Dhaka Gladiators
Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Sami delivered a sensational bowling performance in the 2012 Bangladesh Premier League, taking 5 wickets for just 6 runs. Playing against the Dhaka Gladiators, Sami claimed his first wicket by dismissing Azhar Mahmood and then went on to send big names like Kieron Pollard, Ashraful, and Anamul Haque back to the pavilion. Sami's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award, as the Gladiators were bowled out for 116 runs.
4. Faheem Ashraf - 5/7 against Sylhet Strikers
Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf delivered a spectacular performance for Fortune Barishal in Mirpur in 2025, taking 5 wickets for just 7 runs in 3.1 overs, without conceding any extra runs. Ashraf's exceptional bowling led to the Strikers being bowled out for 116, and Barishal comfortably won the match by eight wickets.
5. Nasum Ahmed - 5/7 against Noakhali Express
On January 5th, during a match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Nasum Ahmed, playing for Sylhet Titans, wreaked havoc on the top and lower middle order of Noakhali Express. Batting first, Noakhali Express suffered early setbacks when Ahmed dismissed Soumya Sarkar and Habibur Sohan quickly. He then sent Mehidy Hasan Rana back to the pavilion and dismantled the rest of the batting lineup, finishing with figures of 5/7. His exceptional bowling performance led to Noakhali Express being all out for just 61 runs in 14.2 overs.
