In a major strategic move, CSK has signed wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals. Samson joins Chennai at his current fee of Rs 18 crore, making it the most expensive and biggest trade in CSK's history. He will be considered a key figure in the team's future leadership plans after MS Dhoni.

CSK focuses on continuity and experience. The team has retained some of its key players, including MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain), and Shivam Dube.
