India announced squad for the U19 World Cup: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the ICC Men's Under-19 World Cup 2026 on Saturday. ​​The team, brimming with young talent, will be led by the promising batsman Ayush Mhatre. The tournament will be hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia, where India will aim to defend its title.

Ayush Mhatre will captain the team for the tournament, while Vihaan Malhotra has been appointed as the vice-captain. Vihaan Malhotra recently made headlines when he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 auction. Both players are expected to lead the team to victory with their aggressive batting and leadership skills.

The Indian team will begin its World Cup campaign on January 15. India is placed in Group B.
