The WPL 2026 is set for a grand opening ceremony with exciting performances. The BCCI has confirmed performances by prominent artists such as Honey Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Harnaaz Sandhu. The WPL 2026 opening ceremony will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, before the toss for the MI vs. RCB match.

This match will be the first of the season, starting at 8:00 PM IST on January 9th. Pre-tournament festivities are common, and the same ground where India won the Women's World Cup will host the first part of the season.

When and where will the WPL 2026 opening ceremony take place?

The opening ceremony of WPL 2026 will be held on Friday, January 9, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The first match of the tournament will begin at 7:30 PM (IST), while the opening ceremony is expected to start approximately an hour earlier, at 6:30 PM.

The BCCI has invited big stars to make this year's opening ceremony special. Popular singer Yo Yo Honey Singh will set the mood in the stadium with his hit songs. Besides him, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez will also perform. It is reported that Jacqueline's dance performance will be dedicated to the confidence and spirit of the female players. Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu will also grace the event with her presence.
