A tall and strongly built fast bowler, standing over six feet with a
muscular frame that complements his raw pace, Oshane Thomas is a
left-handed batter and right-arm quick. He rose through the Jamaican
domestic system and made his name with the Jamaica Scorpions. His
ability to regularly clock speeds above 145 km/h and generate steep
bounce made him one of the most feared emerging fast bowlers in the
Caribbean.

He made his first-class debut for Jamaica in November 2016 in the
Regional Four Day Competition. Earlier, he featured in two matches for the Jamaica Tallawahs during the 2016 CPL season and was retained for the 2017 edition. He later made his List A debut for Jamaica in February 2018 in the Regional Super50.

His domestic performances in the Super50 Cup brought him into the
spotlight and paved the way for international recognition. Thomas made his ODI debut for West Indies in October 2018 against India and
followed it with a T20I debut the next month. Notably, his first
international wicket was Shikhar Dhawan.

One of his standout moments came in March 2019 when he dismantled England’s batting with figures of 5 for 21 at Gros Islet. He was also part of the West Indies squad for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, finishing with nine wickets in the tournament. Injuries and fluctuating form impacted his consistency, but he remained on the radar for white-ball cricket and featured in the squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup. He later returned to the West Indies setup during the 2023-24 cycle, looking to re-establish himself as a strike bowler.

On the franchise circuit, Thomas established himself as a regular with
the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League, where he rose to prominence in 2018 as one of the tournament’s leading wicket-takers. His raw pace opened doors internationally, earning him two seasons with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, along with stints in the Bangladesh Premier League and the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He also featured in the Lanka Premier League with Kandy Falcons in 2022, while in the CPL he has represented multiple teams including St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and for the 2025 season he was signed by Saint Lucia Kings.
