Named after the Bulgarian national hero and revolutionary Vasil Levski (1837–1873), the Vasil Levski National Stadium is the country's second-largest stadium. With a seating capacity of 43,230, it is located in the heart of Sofia within the grounds of Borisova Gradina—the city's oldest and most famous park. The stadium hosts the Bulgarian national football team's home matches, the Bulgarian Cup final, and athletics competitions. It has served as the home ground for Levski Sofia's Champions League matches and is frequently used for major clashes (derbies) between Sofia's top clubs, in preference to their own home stadiums.
