Born on February 5, 2004, in Almere, Netherlands, Oehlers also holds Surinamese citizenship and primarily operates from the right flank, though his versatility allows him to play as a left winger or attacking midfielder.
His professional journey began in the youth ranks of local clubs Sporting Almere and ASC Waterwijk before he joined the prestigious Ajax academy in 2016.
In 2017, he transitioned to the FC Utrecht academy, where he signed his first professional contract at just 15 years old, eventually making his senior debut for Jong FC Utrecht in December 2020.
