Her cricket journey began early, earning a rookie contract with Victoria at age 16 and joining the Melbourne Stars for WBBL’s inaugural season in 2015-16. Ahead of the 2021-22 season, she moved to the Perth Scorchers, which marked the start of her breakthrough at the domestic level.

King claimed her international debut in early 2022, playing all three formats within two weeks, T20I debut against England on 20 January, followed by Test and ODI debuts in late January and early February. Later that year, she became a key member of Australia’s World Cup-winning squad and also helped secure a Commonwealth Games gold medal.

Her leg-spin has been both precise and deceptive, earning her accolades and a place in the record books. Notably, in the 2022 edition of The Hundred, she delivered a hat-trick and bowled 10 consecutive dot balls, both firsts in the women's competition.
